Biddulph Ukulele Group's annual ukulele bash at St Lawrence's Church and Hall on 22nd June 2019
The ukulele event of the year is almost upon us once again, with another fantastic line up. This year's headliners will be 'DEAD MAN'S UKE, with support from 'CHONKINFECKLE' all the way from Wigan, and our very own 'PETER MOSS'. As usual there will be ukulele workshops throughout the morning, presented by some of the performers above. A great opportunity to improve your technique with tuition from the experts.
THE THEME FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT WILL BE ' THE WILD WEST' - ( Fancy Dress Optional )
The 'Open Mic' programme will run throughout the day, with ukulele groups travelling from far and wide to demonstrate their expertise. There will be a small charge of £2 per head for the day to all participants - a small charge of £5 per head for all others.
BEGINNERS CLASS - 9-15 TO 9-45 am - ( Introduction to the ukulele )
PETER MOSS'S WORKSHOP - 10 am - ( Learning to perform a Beatles Medley in 4 different keys with vocal harmony ) A great opportunity to learn from one of the finest exponents of the art of playing the ukulele. Not to be missed. £5 per head.
PHIL DOLEMAN'S WORKSHOP - 11-30 am - ( Learn some standard Jug Band chords & Riffs that will allow you to play some great old songs and help to write your own ) Phil has run workshops at Biddulph on a number of occasions, and delighted us with his performances on stage. You'll be amazed at how much you can learn in such a short space of time. £5 per head.
DEAD MAN'S UKE WORKSHOP - 12-30 pm - ( "Everything I learned from Glen Campbell ... Tricks and Turnarounds from an Old Song" ) This ukulele/double bass duo with their own quirky style and humour are the headline act for the evening performance. A chance to get an insight into their unique style. What an opportunity! £5 per head.
